Practical Scrappers Blog Hop: Project Life

***Keep Scrolling down to the next post to see today's Inspired by Pinterest creation!***

Hello and welcome to the PRACTICAL SCRAPPERS and SCRAPTOWN LADY Blog Hop!  So glad that you stopped by today!

I LOVE Project Life and I simply use it for Project 365, Picture of the Day.  Meaning that I take one picture per day that makes it in our Project Life album.  At the end of the year, I have an album full of 365 of my favorite pictures of every day life and some special events thrown in there too!

I currently use Becky Higgins' products.  This year I am using the Seafoam Kit.

So here is my basic process and one of my layouts of pictures I took back in January.

I have to start the week with Sunday...it's just natural for me!  I normally will do all 4x6 pictures, with some Instagram picture thrown in this year, because I now have a smart phone!  Hello 2013!

In all of my scrapbook pages, not just project life, I use my own handwriting.  There is something about handwriting...it's part of a person and I want my kids and future generations to know that part of me.  I could pick my Grandma's, Mom's or Dad's handwriting out anywhere.  It's a special connection!

My daughter is 4 years old and she loves being artistic.  This is so much a part of our every day life that I have to add in her creations!  I slip them into an 8.5x11 page protector.

Sometimes I will have a lot of art work for a layout.  This week I just chose 4 pictures!

I mentioned earlier that I have started to use Instagram pictures some of the time.  When I have a 4x4 Instagram print, I take a 4x6 blank grid card and use a little washi tape on each side to give a little decoration!

Some weeks I will had in stamps and embellishments more than others...this just wasn't one of those weeks!

Now you have some work to do!  There is a great drawing going on if you follow the below rules!

What do you have to do to be entered in the drawing? It’s easy!

Practical Scrappers: Inspired by Pinterest

It's time to be inspired by Pinterest again today at Practical Scrappers.  This challenge fell on the perfect day because we are hosting a playdate that our house this morning (kiddos are 4 and almost 2) that is Pinterest inspired!

Each Mom is bringing an activity or a snack that she has pinned on Pinterest but hasn't gotten around to doing with her own kids yet.  My activity is...messy!  But it should be fun!!!

Anyway, back to the crafty-ness before I head to bed and get ready for the kids tomorrow!  Here is the pin that I chose to use as inspiration...

I love the texture of this blue background!  You can see the pin here.

And here is my creation...

I kept the textured background and added in a flower in the same color!  It was late when I took this picture so the colors are kind of off.  But these are a few of Stampin' Up!'s new colors: Smokey Slate, Costal Cabana and Strawberry Slush.

Hope you enjoyed my card today.  Don't forget to check out what the other Design Team members were inspired by Pinterest to create over on the Practical Scrappers blog

Practical Scrappers: Frugal Finds - Straws

Today at Practical Scrappers we are being frugal.  It's time for Frugal Finds!  And this month we are using straws!

Yes, drinking straws!

I made this card using my June Paper Pumpkin Kit from Stampin' Up!  If you haven't heard of My Paper Pumpkin, you should take a look.  It's a monthly kit that comes directly to your door for just $19.95 + tax!  Every month there is a different, fun project to make!

To create the Tangerine Tango circles, I used a drinking straw (from a Sonic drink...of course).  I dipped the end of the straw in the ink pad and stamped repeatedly.  I love that there is never a perfect circle...it's a fun distressed look!

Head on over to the Practical Scrappers blog to see what the other Design Team members did with straws today!

More Paper Pumpkin Cards: June Kit

I know that I showed you one card that I made with my June Paper Pumpkin Kit.  BUT, I have a few more for you today.  This weekend I got to play around with the kit a bit more!

For this card I used Early Espresso for my brown.  I just like that color a lot better than Soft Suede.  I also added in some fun Pumpkin Pie embellishments in the hexagons!  LOVE it!

This card used a lot of washi tape!  I also love all of the different colored hexagons and that they are pointing different directions!

This last card was meant to be simple.  Not a lot of added products.  I did add in the Chocolate Chip DSP behind the hexagon punch outs.  Simple and Cute!

And after those 4 cards, I still have this left over!  I play on using some of the hexagons and of course the stamps to make a few other cards!  Can't wait to get time to play!

If you don't want to miss another kit, head to www.mypaperpumpkin.com to sign up.  Choose Kim Ryden as your demonstrator!  The first person to sign up with me before July 10th will have the opportunity to purchase the June Kit for $20.  You will never be able to get it again!  But I got an extra to share this month!  Please let me know if you are interested!

My Paper Pumpkin: June Kit

Just wanted to let you all see the June My Paper Pumpkin kit!  It is called "Hello to you" and it has A LOT of hexagons!!

Here is what the contents of the kit make, according to the directions.  You have the supplies to make 4 cards and you get envelopes!

There are a few hexagons that are actual punch outs and you use your heart stamp (included in kit) with your Soft Suede Ink Spot (included in kit) to stamp hearts through them to the back piece of cardstock!

The stamps this month are AWESOME!  That Chevron fits perfectly on the D size block!  I can't wait to use it on all kinds of projects!  :)

If you are interested in joining this monthly kit club, all you do is go to the Paper Pumpkin website, choose Kim Ryden as your demonstrator and the kits will come directly to you, ready for you to sit down and create.  (Everything is included, except adhesive.)

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Hiding In My Craft Room #102: Die Cuts

This week we are using Die Cuts at HIMCR for Challenge #102!

June Stylin' Stampin' Squad Bog Hop: New Catalog Release

Hey everyone!  It's time for another blog hop from a great group of demonstrators and this month we are showcasing NEW items from the NEW catalog!  YAY!!!

If you are following along the hop you just came from Pamela's blog and got to she her use some awesome new goodies!  And now you get to see mine!

This month I created a layout of my little boy!

This is the layout that my scrapbook club members got to create yesterday!  The hostess wanted to use punches and boy did we!  There are 28 punched items on this layout!  WOW!

One of my favorite NEW colors is Bermuda Bay.  It was a color that came back from the past and I LOVE IT!

One of my favorite things about the new catalog is that they now sell Bundles!  You can get the Six-Sided Sampler Stamp Set and the Hexagon Punch together and you save $5.40 (for clear mount)!  AWESOME!

I love these tone-on-tone circles!  I punched them with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch and then stamped a little texture on them using the Off the Grid single stamp and the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  Then I used the NEW Stampin' Distress Tool to rough up the edges.

I couldn't resist adding in this cute picture of my little Noah checking out his scrapbook page!  The page was of him at 18 months and he's how 22 months...where does the time go?!
