Practical Scrappers: Frugal Finds-Stamping with Household Items

Today at Practical Scrappers we are talking about Stamping with Household Items!

I chose toy cars as my household item. We have a ton of them at our house so I knew it would be easy to find, give great texture to a card for a little boy and be super fun!

Here is the car that I chose from the play room.

I rolled the tires in my black ink pad (that really needs to be reinked!) and then rolled on the Whisper White cardstock.  I reinked and rolled again...over and over until I had the look I was trying to achieve.

This is a fun item to stamp with and it would even be fun for kids to get in on the action!

Make sure that you stop by Practical Scrappers today to see what other household items the design team is stamping with!

Practical Scrappers: Inspired by Pinterest

I love the challenge we have a Practical Scrappers to be inspired by Pinterest to create something.  I am on Pinterest multiple times a day and I just LOVE getting inspiration for my cards and scrapbook pages there!

Before I show you my card, I have to tell you that I LOVE the work of Kimberly Van Diepen.  She is a Stampin' Up Demonstrator too and does great work!  It's so much fun to see what she comes up with every day.  She always seems to have something new!

So here is the pin that inspired me.  I love the way Kimberly's card came together and even though I used it as inspiration to create one that is almost the same, I still like hers a lot better!

We are attending a wedding on Saturday and I knew I needed to create a card to give the lovely new Mr. & Mrs.  So here you have it!

I hope you enjoyed both of the cards I posted today.  Be sure to head on over to the Practical Scrappers blog to see what the other Design Team members came up with today!

My Paper Pumpkin May Kit: Good Life Brag Book

My Paper Pumpkin's May Kit is SO MUCH FUN!

If you are new to stamping this is a great program for you!  Each month you get supplies and tools to create a fun project.  (Adhesive not included.)

This month we got the supplies to make a brag book...mini 5"x5" scrapbook!

Here is my cover!

I have a few pages done on the inside...but still have a lot more to go in order to finish!  I decided to use mine for my favorite pictures of the moment.  All are instagram pictures that I printed to be 4" x 4".  I would probably recommend that you print smaller pictures...I am having to cut mine down a little in order to fit anything else on the page!

Of course I'm adding in a few things from my stash of supplies but most of the items are included in the kit!

Each month we have received an ink spot, tiny 1" x 1" ink pad, and a few stamps!  These stamps are exclusive to the Paper Pumpkin kits, can't buy them anywhere!

This month we received 2 each of these sheets of stickers.  They are heavy cardstock stickers.  The sheets are probably 6" x 6".

Here are the fun pieces of DSP that we got (6" x 6") and the hardware and button I have yet to use.

And each month comes with instructions!  Although this month there are only a few examples of pages so you have a lot of creative freedom!  Of, course you have creative freedom every month...you can change what you want and create your project just how you like.

If you are interested in trying My Paper Pumpkin, you can sign up here.  Please choose me, Kim Ryden, as your demonstrator.  You can stop of pause your account at any time.  The cost is $19.95 USD plus tax.  Shipping is FREE!  If you have any questions, let me know!

You will need:

Practical Scrappers: May Layout Sketch

It's time for another layout sketch at Practical Scrappers.  Here is the sketch that we worked with this month...

And here is my take on it...

I used Stampin' Up!'s "For the Record Simply Scrappin' Layout Kit".  It's in the current Spring Catalog.  This kit can be ordered through May 31st here.

I just realized that I haven't journaled on this layout yet.  OOPS!  But it's all about how my little Noah man started loving Mater at 19 months.  He took this little car everywhere and called him "May-May".  So cute!

Be sure to check out what the other designers at Practical Scrappers did with the sketch this month.

Stylin Stampin Squad Blog Hop May

One of the best things about Stampin' Up!, in my opinion, is My Digital Studio!  It's an awesome way to digitally scrapbook or make cards AND it's only $19.95!!

Another great thing about MDS is that there are a TON of templates ready for you to use.  The above card is a template in the "You Made It Grad" ensemble!
