CAS-ual Fridays #87: Make Your Mark

Hello there!  Thanks for stopping by the blog today!  Today I am posting a card for the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge...

Use markers to create a CAS card!

And here is my card...

This card was very simple!  I started with a Whisper White cardstock base (Stampin Up, SU) and used the new stamp set, Oh, Hello directly on the card base.  I used my markers on the printed chevron stamp.  There are 4 little sections to color, creating 2 arrows.  So for this card, I stamped it's 3.5 times.  I used these colors: Pool Party, Old Olive, Rich Razzelberry and Chocolate Chip.

I also used my markers to color and stamp the flower.  I then cut it out and placed it on top of the vellum banner that says, "Oh, Hello"!

So easy and SO CUTE!

Craft Your Passion #147: Color Challenge

It's time for a Color Challenge at Craft Your Passion!  This week we are sponsored by Mayzy Art.  I chose to work with the image: Bibi's Balloons.

And here is the Color Challenge...

Use the colors: Black, Lime Green, Purple, Turquoise and Pink.

And here is my card...

This image was so much fun to color.  I am a total Stampin Up! girl.  So here are the colors I used: Basic Black, Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzelberry, Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo.  I also used: Daffodil Delight and Blush Blossom.

The rest of the card came together with a little washi tape, of the turquoise variety, and a few brads to match!

This is going to be a great card for the next birthday party we are invited to attend!  So cute!

Please head over to the Craft Your Passion blog to see the other images that the Design Team was working with this week and stop by Mayzy Art to see what they have up for sale.  Some cute stuff!

Hiding In My Craft Room #82: Valentine's Day

It's almost Valentine's Day ladies and if you are a card maker you better hope to it!  HIMCR's challenge #82 will help you get at least one card complete for the day of love!

This month we were given a fun digital card making kit, Valentine Craft Making Kit: Designed by Sherri and sold at The Scrapbook Stamp Society

I love that the images are already colored!  My card came together so simply...in less than 5 minutes!

I started this card with a Cherry Cobbler cardstock (SU) base.  The image was printed on Whisper White cardstock (SU).  I placed the image in the center of the card front and then added a little washi tape to the corners.  I finished the card off with a little tower of buttons.

I love it and my daughter really does!  She prompty took it and put it in her "stash".

Head on over to Sherri's blog to get a free digital image to use on this week's challenge!!

CAS-ual Fridays #86: Long and Short

It's been a while since I played in a challenge instead of designing for one.  So today, I thought I would go ahead and play along with CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #86.  The challenge this week is "Long and Short".  Create a card that isn't standard size but has one longer side and one shorter side.

Here is my card...

I used a Crumb Cake cardstock base (Stampin Up).  The cute chevron heart came from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set (Stampin Up).  The banner behind the heart is a sticker by Recollections.  Stickers with the sentiment "be mine" are by Basic Grey.  Then I added a little grey button (Fancy Pants) and tied a little bow in white thread (Stampin Up).

Here is my card next to a tradiational sized card front.  I love how little and cute it is!

If you have some time, play along with CAS-ual Fridays Challenges...they are always fun!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Practical Scrappers: Inspired by Pinterest

SO...today at Practical Scrappers my team was given the challenge to be "Inspired by Pinterest"!  If you are on Pinterest, you know that it's not too hard to be inspired by it...it's just hard to find time to make everything that you are inspired to make!  SO...here is my layout today!

The title page of my Project Life 2013 album.  I love how quickly Project Life comes together and how organized and cute it looks!  IT'S EASY!!!

Here is the pin on Pinterest that I was inspired by...

I simply LOVE all of that tupperware and the cute colors that it comes in and that there are multiple sizes in that cabinet.  When I saw this picture it make me think of the traditional Page Protectors that Project Life sells, Design A.  And it came to mind so easily because I just received my kit this week!

So I got creating and make this title page in just under 10 minutes!  EASY!

Side Note...check out The Happy Family Movement...great family, good advice....fun stuff!

Here is the kit that I'm using this year...Seafoam!  You can order on Amazon right now!  It's SO great!

Isn't it SO CUTE?!

I hope to blog more this year about my Project Life album.  I use it to take a picture a day and I LOVE it!  I have completed 3 whole years of Project 365 (one was actually 366) and I don't think I'm stopping any time soon!

I love to add in art work and other items I want to remember...not just pictures!

So follow my blog and get inspiration all year long!  And be sure to head over to Practical Scrappers today to see everything that Pinterest inspired us to make!

Craft Your Passion #146: Teal

Hey Everyone...just stopping in with another Craft Your Passion Challenge.  This week our challenge is...Totally Teal!  I love the color teal...it's one of my favorites.

And our sponsor this week is Saturated Canary.  They have some great images!  I was given: Washi Tape Kinda Girl to work with and I just LOVE her!  But you all know that I love washi tape.  Remember this post from a few days ago?

Well I started this card with an old Stampin Up color...Taken with Teal cardstock.  It's the only retired color that I still use and am sad about it leaving the SU family!  I then used white washi tape with teal polka dots to cover the background of the card front.

I colored the image using Stampin Up Stampin Write Markers: Chocolate Chip, Melon Mambo, Pool Party, Night of Navy, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Wisteria Wonder, and Blush Blossom (retired).

I then added a little more washi, a button and some twine to finish off the card!

I just loved how this little Washi Tape Kinda Girl turned out!

Make sure you head on over to the Craft Your Passion blog to see what all of the other girls created today and don't forget to enter to win the wonderful prize from Saturated Canary!

Hiding in My Craft Room #80: Super Scraps Saturday

It's that time of the month again...Super Scraps Saturday at HIMCR!  I think I say it every month but I LOVE this challenge!  Mosty because I just go in to sit down at my craft table and create with what is in front of me!

I started this card with a Whisper White piece of cardstock from my scrapbox.  The card front is 4x4".  The decorative papers that are on this card come from My Mind's Eye and Stampin Up!  I used a roll of washi tape that was laying on my table across the top of the card front.  Then I added this button with twine threaded through.  This element was already put together...even had a glue dot on the back for me already!

The sentiment on this card was already attached to my clear block and is from the NEW Stampin Up Sale-a-Bration stamp set, Bloomin' Marvelous!  The last thing I added were some cute little jewels for a little more bling!

Please make sure to stop by the HIMCR blog to see what all of the other girls created this week!

SIT #99

Hey Ladies...this Sketches in Thyme layout sketch just caught my eye and I had to play along!!

Here's my take on the sketch...

I started this layout with a Crumb Cake cardstock base.  Added in a 6x12 inch Gumball Green piece of Core'dinations cardstock that I sanded a little to give it a little bit of texture!

The pieces of DSP on the left side of the page are from the Print Poetry DSP Stack.  I love all of the little prints it has!!  I then used our Petite Pennants Punch to make the little banner.  I added an In Color Dahlia to each pennant.  Then I tied some Linen Thread bow to add to the end of each side of the banner!

I love this page...thanks for the inspiration Sketches in Thyme!

Practical Scrappers: Frugal Finds

This week at Practical Scrappers we are using...

TOOTHPICKS!

I have used toothpicks before as the pole of a banner but when I saw this challenge I wanted to use toothpicks as a border on a scrapbook page.  I quickly realized that I would have to place A LOT of toothpicks for a 12 inch border on a scrapbook page (and I wanted to go all the way across)!  Ha ha!

So I decided on a card instead!  I love how it turned out and that it really could be used as a masculine card too!  Make sure that you go check out all of the other ways to use toothpick in crafting!  The other Practical Scrappers have some great ideas!

Supplies Used
Cardstock: Basic Gray and Whisper White (Stampin Up!)
DSP: Neutrals Stack (Stampin Up!)
Stamp Set: Petite Pairs (Stampin Up!), Friendly Flags (Hero Arts)
Ink: Basic Gray and Basic Black (Stampin Up!)
Embellishments: Washi Tape (generic), Gems (Close to my Heart), Twine (My Mind's Eye), Toothpicks (Target)

Craft Your Passion #144: Shabby Chic

Hey Everyone!  I want to let you in on something cool!  I am a guest designer at Craft Your Passion for the month of January!  YAY!

The first challenge that I got was to use this cute digital image from The Sugar Kissed Cottage.  It is called "Girls Play".  With this image I was supposed to create a shabby Chic card.  If you have been reading my blog for a while you probably know that this isn't really my go to style.  This card was really a challenge.  BUT...I LOVE IT!

I kinda just want to hang this card on my wall as art!  So cute!

Supplies Used
Cardstock: Pool Party and Very Vanilla (Stampin Up!)
Embellishments: Ribbon (Maya Road), Orange Tag (My Mind's Eye), Heart Pins (generic), Paper Embellishment (the girls' paperie), Brad (My Mind's Eye).

Hope you like it and please go check out what the other Design Team members at CYP did this week!  And I will be back with another CYP creation next week!

Hiding In My Craft Room #79: Black & White + 1

It's time for another challenge with HIMCR!  This week we have a Color Challenge for you!

Black & White + 1 Color of Your Choice!

This was a fun challenge for me!  I love making a project out of just neutrals and then adding in a pop of color!

So here is my card this week...

I started with a Crumb Cake cardstock base.  I then added in DSP from from my Neutrals Stack by Stampin Up!  I made the cute black label with my Apothecary Accents Framelits for the Big Shot.

The cute little butterfly was made with the new Sale-a-Bration stamp set: Bloomin' Marvelous and punched out with our new Bitty Butterfly punch!  Then I popped it up with a dimensional.

I love how it turned out...don't you?!  Don't forget to head on over to the HIMCR blog to see what all of the other Design Team members came up with this week!

Practical Scrappers: January Layout Sketch

Hey Everyone...It's my first post with Practical Scrappers!  YAY!  You will see about 3-4 projects per month from me all on different days of the week.  I love the schedule and how we can just choose what we want to do as a design team member!

This was our layout sketch this month...

And I was totally inspired by it!

Here is my layout...

I decided to use a few pictures that I just took on December 20th of this year.  It was the first snow of the year and Brooke (3.5 years old) really, really wanted to go out and play.  Both of my kids had colds SO...I tired to keep saying no and at noon, I finally gave in.

Noah only lasted 5 minutes until he fell down and got his hands wet and wanted to go inside.  But Brooke played in the backyard for almost an hour that day!  She was having FUN!  And she took a great nap that day too!

So...for this layout, I started with a Tempting Turquopise cardstock base (Stampin Up!).  The designer papers on this layout came from My Mind's Eye.  I used a new stamp set from Hero Arts (Friendly Flags) for those cute little banners...stamped using: Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise and Lucky Limeade inks by Stampin Up!

I used the Designer's Calendar Cricut cartridge to create the title for the layout in Tempting Turquoise cardstock.

The brads and thread that I added to the banner are by Stampin Up!  The wood heart is by Studio Calico.

And instead of snowflakes like the sketch, I used buttons!  All buttons and thread are by Stampin Up!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  I hope that you enjoyed my first project for Practical Scrappers.  Make sure to visit the Practical Scrappers blog to see all of the fun layouts today!

Come back tomorrow for my take on the next Hiding in my Craft Room Challenge!
