10 Months

Yes...my baby is now 14 months old...

But this layout is from when she was only 10 months old!
I used Stampin Up's Designer Series Paper, Rockability. It was on the clearance rack a few weeks ago and I just had to get some! (It's no longer available...sorry!) As I was going back through pictures I knew this paper would look so cute with her little red outfit!

I think I have used satin ribbon on just about every project I've created in the past few months!

And I am trying to actually use my embellishments instead of hoarding them. So I used multiple buttons on this layout!

The little scallop embellishment was created by punching a scallop circle and a 1-1/4" circle, threading a Kiwi Kiss corduroy button with black thread and gluing it all together!

Close up of all of my Riding Hood Red buttons in use! I just LOVE this look!

Going to the Park

We like to head to the park as a family when we can. This was back in March when it was still a little chilly, but we just have to try out the new wagon!

Most of the items I used on this page are from Sassafrass. I just love their stuff!

I especially love the stickers that they have that coordinate with their papers. AND their chipboard alphabet!

On this page I created a little banner. It was already printed on one of their papers, I just cut it out and glued it along the bottom of this picture!

Close up of the chipboard alphabet!

Cute Hat

I love this hat that I purchased on this Etsy site! Heartsmiles! And since I love it so much, I decided that I should scrapbook about it!

I am loving the Stampin Up Sation Ribbon! I have 5 colors: Basic Gray, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black, Old Olive, and Real Red is in my next shipment!! I love the tone-on-tone look I have on this page! It's SO cute!

The pink polka-dots on this paper are felt! I added a few Tempting Turquoise brads in the center of some circles. And these flowers are from the American Craft, Dear Lizzy line! (Thanks for finding those Mom!) I just love this layout!

Mohawk

I made this page using the Simply Scrappin Kit "U R Sweet". I recently found it on the Clearance Rack and I couldn't pass it up! It's SO cute!!!

I just love the color Combo: Taken with Teal, Basic Gray, Old Olive, and Rose Red!

And of course I had to add a few jeweled brads in there!

Unfortunately, this SS Kit is no longer available. But there are other items that you won't want to miss!! Check them out on my website: http://www.kimryden.stampinup.net/. Thanks!

Anniversary Page

March 20th was our 6th Anniversary. So we headed out on a date and my parents even watched Brooke overnight! We took this picture of ourselves and I just had to scrapbook it!

I am loving all of the collage type of scrapbooking so I thought I would try a page with just one picture and clusters of embellishments. I think it turned out great!

I am also loving the layering of 2 buttons with thread tied in a bow on top. SO CUTE!

Tour My Stamp Room!

For the past few weeks I have been working on cleaning out the old and organizing what I still want to hang on to. It's finally done and I thought that I would show you all my stamp room. I tried to do a video of it, but I think it was way too long for blogger to upload in a timely manner! So here it is:

This is the view from the entry way. I do all my crafting on a big table and now that everything else is clean, my table can be clutter free! YEAH!

This little black shelf is home to my Big Shot, Catalogs, Idea Books and Magazines, and on the bottom shelf you will find mini albums that I want to fill or I'm currently working on.

This cube shelf is so GREAT! On the top I have all of my cardstock organized by color family. I haven't switched over to the new color families yet cause I'm trying to use all of my old stuff before the new comes out in July!! On this shelf you will see some embellishments, tools, adhesives, and more. But it all has a place and a label so I know where to put it back when I'm done!!

I got this big white dresser when I was 10 and I'm still using it 19 years later! Thanks Mom and Dad! In the dresser drawers I have my pictures to scrapbook, bags, boxes, page protectors, everything is labeled and it's SO NICE! On the top (from left to right) you will see my ink catty with all my inks and re-inkers, markers, scrap tower (organized by color) with pens and paper on top and on top of that is a black box full of current pictures to scrapbook. The shelves are home to my punches, completed cards, and embellishments!

This white cabinet is full of....

My stamps! On the first two shelves you will see my clear blocks and Stampin Up current stamp sets. On the 3rd shelf you can see my retired stamp sets I'm holding on to and stamp sets from other companies.

Then I have a little black shelving unit next to my work table. This shelf has my tool catty, cutters, power layout box, and a scrapbook I currently need to work on. Then to the right you will see bags where I have all of my designer papers and a container with all of Thickers in it!

And there you have it! Doesn't it look great! It's really helping me to want to clean up when I'm done creating a project! It's just so nice all cleaned up! I want the rest of my house to look like this! SERIOUSLY!! I wish I had more time in the day and more energy!

March Cards - Pt. 3

I have had metal-edged tags sitting in my craft room for so long! It was time to USE them! I just love how they look on this card! I also changed out the sentiment on another copy and had it say, "Happy Anniversary". I think this would make a really cute anniversary card!

SUPPLIES: Cardstock: Kraft. Ink: Melon Mambo and Basic Black. Stamp Set: Best Wishes & More. 6x6 Welcome Neighbor DSP pad, Metal-Edged tag, Clip from Clips Assortment, Melon Mambo Polka-Dot ribbon, dimensionals.

I just love satin ribbon...don't you???

SUPPLIES: Cardstock: Taken with Teal, Pink Passion, Basic Black, Whisper White. Ink: Basic Black and Pink Passion. Stamp Sets: Priceless and Mark the Date. SAB Scallop Edge punch, So Saffron brads, dimensionals, Basic Gray satin ribbon.

March Cards - Pt. 2

I started to have make n takes at my crops in 2010! Below you will see the 3x3 make n take card for March!

One tip on this card...it's easier if you punch your heart first and then use the Square Scallop punch up-side-down so that you can see where the heart will be placed in your square.

SUPPLIES: Cardstock: Basic Gray, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo. Ink: Basic Gray. Stamp Set: Picture This (hostess set from the Ocassions Mini). Scallop Square punch, Small Heart punch, dimensionals, and Bermuda Bay Polka-Dot Grosgrain ribbon.

One tip for this card...I stamped the body of the bird on a piece of notebook paper and cut it out to use as a mask so that I could get the legs and the beak just right. They aren't perfect but that's ok!!!

SUPPLIES: Cardstock: Ballet Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Whisper White. Ink: Ballet Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Close to Cocoa. Stamp Set:Good Friend.

More tomorrow!

March Cards - Pt. 1

This month when I created my 10 cards for $15, I challenged myself to use stamp sets and supplies that I rarely get my hands on. Here are the first 2 cards that I came up with...

I made a petal template with the large petal in the Pick A Petal stamp set, traced and cut out 8 petals on DSP. Then stamped the outlined petal with Stazon on a transparency sheet. Let those dry completely and then cut then out. I put a large glue dot on top of the DSP and then stuck the transparency petals in it. Then added another one on top of the petals and stuck the button down. I think it would also be fun to have a few fabric petals in there!

SUPPLIES: Cardstock: Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White. Ink: Stazon-Jet Black. Stamp Sets: Pick A Petal, Thank You Kindly. DSP from the Sweet Pea 12x12 pad, Kraft corduroy button, twine, pop-up glue dots and transparencies.

This card was really easy! Just stamp and piece together! I did cut out the chocolate chip flower that has skinny petals and wanted to add a dimensional to it. So I cut out a whisper white circle with a punch and adhered it to the back. Easy!

SUPPLIES: Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White. Ink: Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Chocolate Chip. Stamp Sets: Simply Said. Dimensionals, Real Red brad, and Old Olive satin ribbon!

More tomorrow!

Scrapbook Club

Once a month girls from my scrapbook club get to come to my house to make a layout that I design. Here was last month's layout...

We used some DSP from the Sweet Pea 12x12 pad, a metal-edged tag, and the top note sizzix die with the big shot!

Our color combo was: Taken with Teal, Old Olive, Real Red, and Kraft. We also used the Versamarker with the Color Spritzer tool and clear embossing powder to make the splatter background on the Kraft cardstock. I wanted it to look more like sand, but it ended up really cool and looking like splatter paint.

I used this layout to document my favorite pictures of Brooke when she was 10 months old!

Cards in the Mail Saturday: Chocolate Bunny

We received this card in the mail for Easter from my Mom! Isn't it so cute?? The only things Stampin Up about it are the cardstock, ink, and Melon Mambo ribbon. But who could resist that chocolate bunny stamp and the cute Easter paper! Thanks Mom!

Card Kits

As a demonstrator, I do a lot of card making events and when I get home, the extras usually just get placed in a stack of cards to finish at some point in time. This was one of those cards...

I had to change it up a little bit because I no longer have the stamp set I used on the sample card! So I used the flowers from Vintage Vogue in the Ocassions Mini Catalog. The sentiment can be found in a stamp set from Paper Trey Ink! A black line around the whole card and a little black grosgrain ribbon and we are complete!!! Oh don't forget that little black brad in the center of the flowers!

3x3 Cards

Brooke received a cute little 3x3 card for Easter from Grandma Kathy. She loved that thing. She spent several minutes just looking at it, would show it to everyone and not let them take it, and carried it all around on Sunday. She still holds on to it and it's been 5 days since she received it! But today she started to tear paper off of it with her mouth...so I think it's time to put it away!

Who would have thought that 3x3 cards are the greatest things for kiddos?!!

P.S. Isn't the way Brooke is sitting in this picture cute???!

2010 Goals UPDATE!

As many of you may remember from this post, I came up with 10 goals to accomplish this year. Since we are done with the first quarter of 2010, I thought I should give you all an update! Some things are done, some have been set back a little, and some I'm right on track to finish in December. So here goes...

I failed to take pictures on January 1st when I weighed in at 175 (yes...I'm telling you guys all the details). And since January 1st, I have gained 3 lbs. That would put me at 178. UGH!

See...this picture says it all...UGH!

But now that I've posted pictures of me at my greatest, I have a new motivation to get down to my 155 goal weight by December 31st, 2010. Since it's no longer winter...we seem to be healthier and can head to the gym more! In fact we went there yesterday and my legs are killing me! Also, we are outside more in the mornings and afternoons moving more!! YEAH! So hopefully those things, coupled with eating better, will give me a better report at the end of this quarter!

GOAL #2: Finish taxes by the end of February. CHECK! We finished them in the middle of February and have already received our refunds and put them towards our mortgage balance! It feels so good to be done early!

Kristin is my best friend and I told her at her wedding in May of 2008 that I would make her a scrapbook for her wedding present. Well I have all of the pictures organized and ready to be put on pages.

I have 6 layouts complete and about 15 more to go! I plan to do this before their anniversary this year!

I have completed the books in the stack on the right. FOUR! WOO HOO! And the stack on the left consists of the books I hope to read soon!

Don't tell me how it ends. I'm almost halfway through it!

GOAL #5: Make a fondue dinner. Haven't done this yet. I think this would be a fun thing for spring!

As you can tell...I haven't gotten very far with this one! Ha ha! But I'm having a garage sale at the end of April...so I have 29 days to atleast go through it and get stuff out that we don't need anymore! I'm on track here (atleast in my mind)!

GOAL #7: Clock 300 miles of cardio at the gym. I have currently completed 44 miles. I have revised this goal to include miles that we walk outside too! Averaged out...I need to do about 7 miles per week from here on out to keep up with this goal. I better go on a walk today!

I'm on my way. Have some completed but still need to finish about 12 card packs I have in this box!

We are doing great with this goal! In January we went to Noodles & Co. and then to see New Moon (Sam said I could pick since my birthday is in January). In February we went to Pei Wei for our Valentine's dinner and then we headed to Nebraska Furniture Mart to by a bookcase for all my scrapbooks! We ended the night with ice cream! And in March we celebrated our 6th anniversary with dinner at The Bristol and staying the night at The Chateau Avalon while my parents watched Brooke! It's been fun...can't wait to see what we do these next few months!

GOAL #10: Write a will. Haven't even started on this yet.

So there you have it! Sorry I have been gone from blog world these past few weeks. I am going to try to update more frequently this month!!
