A Christmas Gift

My sister loves penguins. So for one of her Christmas gifts I thought I would make her some cards using all of my penguin stamps! Here are my creations!

A few friend cards.

One cute little baby card!

A few Thank You notes.

Just generic, "Have an ice day!" cards!

One Valentine's Day card!

And a few birthday cards!

Don't you just love all of the penguins??!!

Happy New House!

Some friends of ours moved into a new house about a month ago. Yesterday I thought I should make them a card! It was super simple to make! Don't you just love it?? I can't wait to send it out!

December Daily - The Album

12.1 - Just added a matte to my picture and a half circle so I had somewhere to journal. I used a lot of textured cardstock for my album and it's not the best surface for journaling.

12.2 - Lunch with Daddy. Just added my picture and journaling here.

12.3 - Love making cards! Just added picture and journaling here.

12.4 - Breakfast at the Rydens. Just added picture and journaling again.

12.5 - Dad's Birthday. I added a matte to my picture here so that it would pop on the page and tie in my embellishments. I used the "Happy Holidays" circle on this one cause my Dad loves to "sing" this song. This page is just patterned paper that I cut down and stuck in the album...no page protector.

12.5 - page 2. This is the back of Day 5...picture Brooke with her Grandpa.

12.6 - This is a page protector from a recipe book. My Mom thought of this great idea and gave me a few. It was so easy to just pop pictures in and write a little in permanent marker on the outside.

12.6 - page 2. Two 4x6 pictures on the left and then one on the right with some journaling. Super simple!

12.7 - Added a matte to my picture, journaling and the little sticker at the top of the page. It just needed something up there!

12.8 - This photo is a little blurry...sorry! SNOW! I actually got 3 pictures on this small 8.5x8.5 page! I'm so happy that I did! Needed to include my little pups in the album too!

12.9 - Watching the Dogs. Just added the picture and journaling. This album was so easy to put together when you do most of it before December!!! It's kinda hard to see the journaling here but in real life it's not hard to read!

12.10 - Me and my Hubby. I love this page! I think it's my favorite of all of them so far! It's so simple and yet so CUTE! I love that Making Memories Misltoe line!!

12.11 - Christmas tree! I love this simplicity of this page. It's amazing how the pages look so bare when you make them and then adding a picture and journaling just brings them to life!

This is all of the album that I have completed so far! I need to print pictures and get the rest finished up! I will do that this weekend I think! Merry Christmas to ALL!

Simple Baby Card

I bought the stamp set Big on Spring because of this stamp about a 2 years ago and I have never used it once! Do you find yourself doing that? Or is it just me?? I think I might have a make a New Year's Resolution about that or something!

Anyway...I just love this stamp "Let the cute begin" with that little onesie! So since I spent my whole 12 hour crop scrapbooking and forgot to make a baby card, I had to throw a quick one together on Sunday afternoon before we had dinner with some friends to celebrate their new baby!

This was so easy. I made a 4x4 card base out of Kraft cardstock (one of my friends recenty blogged about how she doesn't have any kraft cardstock in her house...gasp!). Then I stamped the image on the card base using Stazon black ink. I stamped the image again on water color paper. I colored in the onesie using a blender pen and Bermuda Bay ink. I then cut out the onesie and used a dimensional to pop it up. After that I finished the card off with some Bermuda Bay polka dot ribbon! Easy!

I think I will have to go make a few more so I have a stock of baby cards on hand for all those babies that will be arriving this spring!

Recent cards

I recently purchased Papertrey Ink's new stamp set: Signature Greetings! I am just in love with this set and I'm not usually a sentiment type of girl! AND I had some very cute owl paper left over from a scrapbook page so I thought I would use it on some cards. The paper is from AdornIt and if anyone knows where to buy more...please let me know!

The buttons also came from Papertrey Ink. They were just calling my name and I had a few $ to spare in my PayPal account!

I love that this color combo could be great for a Dude or a Girly! Hope you all are having a great Friday! I can't wait to scrapbook all day tomorrow! SO EXCITED!

December Daily - Day 11

Things that have changed this year:
1) You will find books and toys under our Christmas tree, not presents!
2) There are no oranaments on the bottom of the tree. They were pulled off and are now on the floor.

But all of this is ok because Brooke is here this Christmas and I wouldn't want it any other way!

December Daily - Day 10

Today was a Thursday and we got to spend the whole day together. The reason was not so fun (Aunt Eva's funeral in Wichita, KS). But getting to spend the whole day with the man I love was great! This picture was taken after we got home and put the baby to bed. It was a long, emotional day but ending it with a hug from my hubby is all I needed!

December Daily - Day 9

Today it was very cold and there was snow on the ground. When that happens for the first time, people get crazy. So we stayed in all day. I love this picture because Chloe does not like to be outside when it's cold and it's kinda like Brooke is saying, "I'm inside where it's nice and warm. Ha ha!"

December Daily - Day 8

Tonight it started snowing! That always gets me in the Christmas mood!
I can't remember if this is Brooke's first snow or not. Since she was born in February and it was still rather cold...it could have snowed when she was just days or weeks old. But I can't see to remember that far back. Ha ha!

Make N Take

I recently attended a demonstrator meeting with a new group of friends. I got to swap, share a technique, and make this cute card!!

We used the Sweet Treat Cups! Isn't this such a cute idea??!!

Gift Tags

Yesterday while everyone was sleeping I had enough time to make my 20 cards AND all of my gift tags for gifts! I was so excited! So here they are!

For our little family I made bigger tags!

Here you will see (left to right) tags for Rogers family, Teasley family, and Ryden family!

I used my handy Cricut to cut all of the shapes and then I used bare chipboard with the first letter of each person's name (or their title: Mom, Grandma, etc.). Then I added a button to each one with a glue dot and tied some ribbon on top! So easy and so cute...right?!

December Daily - Day 7

Today we headed to Target to finish our Christmas shopping and buy the ingredients for steak soup. You were such a trooper today! Thank you!

December Daily - Day 6

Today we put up the Christmas tree.

Brooke was a big help! :)

She really loved seeing how the lights worked and trying to help unpack the tubs of Christmas decorations!

We had a fun evening decking the halls while we watched A Garfield Christmas and Elf. Then we sat by the tree and read the true Christmas story.

December Daily - Day 5

12/5 - Today was my Dad's birthday. He turned 56. (Is that right?) We enjoyed a few of his favorite things. #1: Soup, #2: Pecan Pie, #3: Michael Jackson, and #4: Family...especially the newest addition, Brooke.

It was a fun afternoon! Love you Daddy-o!

Christmas Thank You Cards

Today my family (daugther and husband) both took a 3 hour nap. I decided not to nap so I would be really tired tonight and go to bed early. Anyway...this gave me a whole afternoon to craft! WOO HOO!

I just love this paper from the Making Memories "Misletoe" Collection. Love it! My idea was to go ahead and make some Christmas Thank You cards so that I had them ready for after the holiday. I knew I wanted to cut the trees out of this paper and glue them to kraft cardstock! So this is what I started with.

And this is what I ended up with when I was done with the trees! There are approx. 70 trees on each sheet of paper! WOW!

I made 20 cards in about 1.5 hours!!!

I cut out the trees and popped one up with a dimensional. I averaged 2 trees per card. Then I used a blender pen and Close to Cocoa ink to shade in the ground. After that I rummaged through my rub ons to find 20 "Thank You" sayings. It was very simple!

There you have it!

December Daily - Day 4

Today started out just like any other...with breakfast! Brooke had half of a muffin and 1/3 of a banana. This morning she was all about screaming and talking. She said a lot of "Da da da's". One time today when she was done eating I said, "All Done?" And she said, "Ah Da." I think she's a pretty smart baby girl!

December Daily - Day 3

Today I spent a whole nap time going through the cards that I have recently made. I love the fact that I make cards...it's so much better than buying them. And I love the fact that I have a fully stocked craftroom and can just run downstairs at any moment and make a card with things I have on hand!

December Daily - Day 2

Today was a special day. We got to have lunch with Daddy! It's not every day that we get to have 2 meals with Daddy in one day and when he said he was working at the office instead of downtown today, we jumped at the chance to spend time with him!
