Trip to the Dentist

Yesterday I went to the dentist. I left work at 2:30, YEAH! But...I left work early to go to the dentist. Not so sure that that's a good trade off. Hmmm...

Anyway, it's not really the actual dentist that makes me hate going it's...

The tools that they use. I know that I make the most painful faces. Yesterday the hygenist was like, are you ok? I would have gone into a explanation of my faces then but there were tools in my mouth so I just said, "Yes".

But the real reason that I make faces is that I hate the sound of the scratching on my teeth. You know, when they take that little pokie thing that scrap all of the plaque off of your teeth. That just makes me crazy!

Another thing that I hate is that they try to have a converstaion with you while they have like 20 tools in your mouth. I wonder if they have to take a class in how to have a one-sided conversation. Or maybe classes like, how to ask yes and no questions.

The next thing that happens is that they use that nasty toothpaste that is mixed with sand to polish your teeth. I hate that stuff. There are 2 reasons: 1) They always use peppermint. 2) The texture is just wrong! I'm just glad that everyday toothpaste is smooth and creamy!

Then she says that she's going to go get the dentist. When he arrives she gives him a post-it note with things to check out. This is the worst because this is the point when they tell me that I might have cavities! YIKES! But yesterday I was all clear...just to keep watching the teeth that were on the post-it.

Then you get the bill and you realize that the dentist gets paid $41 for the exam that took him like 2 minutes to perform! I need to become a dentist!

Regionals in KC = FUN!

On Saturday I attended the Stampin Up Regional Seminar with my mom, Margie, and my dad's cousin, Diana! It was so much fun to have a day of stamping and to get to learn so much from all of the demo trainers. Although I was missing Jaron just a little bit! Here are just a few pictures of our day. I will post more later from home...

This picture is of Diana, Shelli, my mom , and me. I love getting to talk with Shelli. We asked her how she kept smiling so much and she confirmed that it was not Vaseline on her teeth! HA HA! (My mom had to ask...she's so silly!) Notice how my mom and I are the shortest and we have squinty eyes!

Here is Diana and my mom. Mom's eyes are almost closed...that's just normal!

And here is Margie and me! Again...take a look at the eyes...I get it from my mom! More pictures and fun stamping projects later! Hope you are having a great Monday. I have to go to the dentist today...so say a little pray for me!

Wordle

I ran across this fun item this week. You can just plub in your blog address or you can type in words and they will randomly pull stuff from your blog or words to create a collage of words! You can click on the smaller picture to make it bigger so that you can read it. I'm going to be doing this on my other blog too just to see what the differences are!

You can make your own too by clicking on the picture! Have a great Friday!

It's Monday! Yippie!

Well yesterday I totally cleaned and organized our bedroom! Now I feel like I can relax in there! I plan to do a few more rooms this week as well and then start working on the crawl space! I have to get that done before my belly gets too big to bend over!

So I've been at work this morning and I'm totally unmotivated to work! What else is new? So I spent most of the morning looking at my Google Reader! Have I mentioned how much I love Google Reader? I have so many blogs that I try to keep up with that it's so much easier with Google Reader. You just plug all of your blogs that you read in there and when the person updates, it shows you on your reader!

This morning I had like 30+ to read! Here is a list of some of the things that I loved:

* I love the bed that you can see in this post. I have been eyeing it at Ikea for a while now. I just love all of the furniture that goes along with it but the only thing I'm wondering is if the bed will be too low and get lost in our bedroom with the vaulted ceiling! What do you all think? Do you have Ikea bed...do you like them without the box spring? I emailed Emily and I hope to hear back from her soon!

* I love the use of velumn in this card.

* I love these photos. Her kids are so cute!

* And I love this blog in general and I'm glad that she's back to blogging after her move!

In other news...there are just a few more days left until I get to have my first sonogram! I'm so excited for October 1st! YEAH! (Let the shopping begin! HA HA!)

Color Challenge Results and Fun Stuff!

Well if you remember a few posts back I issued a color challenge to create a card using either: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, and Whisper White (if you think Baby Ryden is a boy) OR Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, and Whisper White (if you think Baby Ryden is a girl)! Here are the results:

Grandma Kathy didn't want to have to choose and doesn't really care what Baby Ryden is as long as it's healthy and happy. So she made both a green and pink card! But she didn't want to make a point in saying that she's not hoping that I have twins! HA HA!

And this is the card I made. I have a feeling that Baby Ryden is going to be a boy. Just a feeling. We shall see in a few weeks though (maybe).

I also wanted to share a few fun things from some other blogs that I read daily!

I thought this was a really fun way to dress up your holiday giftcards! So cute!

And I can't wait to do a scrapbook page based on this. Chris is so creative and I love her kids too!

Hope you enjoy your Friday!

It's Wednesday!!!

SO...I haven't updated in a long time! I thought it was about time to let you know what is going on in my life. (Please note that for all baby related news you will have to view www.therydenfamily.blogspot.com which I will be updating today as well!).

1. You know that stack of stuff that you have put off doing for weeks or months at work. You know how it piles up and you don't really worry about it because you know that it can we handled at a later date? Well...yesterday, I finished almost everything in my stack! YEAH! I wrote tons of credits and entered ton of complaints in the system. It was a good day and I was totally motivated to get it all done! I still have a few more things that I hope to finish by the end of the week. But today I'm taking it easy! HA HA!

2. I knew the day would come when I grew up. How do I know that I've grown up, you ask? Well, recently I started to wear make up every day! Can you believe it. For those of your who have known me all of my life or even for a while now, you might think...WHOA it's a miracle! But for those who just know me from my blog, here is the back story: Ever since high school I have only worn makeup for special occassions...you know Prom, my wedding...but not every day. But ever since my best freind's wedding when I got Mary Kay's Granite eye shadow, I have wanted to wear that almost every day! Make Up just makes me feel more put together. I'm still easing into the lipstick/gloss situation. I can't take everyone by surprise to quickly! Which reminds me...I need to place a Mary Kay order with my best friend, Kristin.

3. I started watching The Biggest Loser last night. We had a party actually...it was rather fun. Of course we had to go out to eat dinner first and then we made puppy chow to eat during the show too. But our reasoning was that the people on the show are still fat too. Maybe next week we will eat carrot sticks and water as we watch...Hmmm... Anyway, I think this season is really going to be good. I'm pulling for the Purple and Yellow teams so far! I just like them!

4. There are so many of my freinds who are having babies. I just found out this morning that 3 more are pregnant and due in May. Most of my freinds are from church...they are going to need a lot of workers in the baby classroom come Spring/Summer!

5. It really excites me that all of the great shows are going back to TV next week (or soon there after). I have so many shows on my list. I'm just hoping that I can still get a few things done around the house when they are all back on. But I should be resting right?! I mean I am pregnant! I'm most excited for: How I Met Your Mother, The Office, and Grey's Anantomy.

6. I am totally in love with my husband. He is so devoted to our little family. He works 40-50 (and sometimes more) hours a week, is taking grad school classes, and still finds time to do things around the house like mow the lawn (while I'm off watching TV with my freinds). He is the greatest! (And you can tell him I said that!)

7. What should I have for lunch today? Hmmm...I'm thinking Mac n Cheese!

8. It's my favorite time of year right now! I love when it's cool at night but warmer during the day! (And you gotta love that it's not raining anymore! YEAH!) All this week the high is in the 80's with a low in the 50's...perfect!

9. Yesterday at lunch my sister and I got a little surprise. We were eating lunch and talking at the table and finding great recipes and stuff. Well I start to head to the kitchen to put my dishes in the sink and what do you think I saw? A grasshopper. Ok...some of your may be thinking..."It's only a grasshopper." Well I was thinking..."Oh my gosh that thing is huge what are we going to do? I'm not touching it!" This thing was about 2 inches long and thick enough around that if you were to squish it you would hear a lot of crunching. Anyway...it was on the kitchen faucet at the time. I call the wonderful hubby I was talking about earlier and he says, "I can't beleive you are calling me about this now. Put it in a bowl or something."

OK...if you re-read what I just wrote, you will know that this thing is 2 inches long! It would totally jump out of a bowl. HA! So Erica and I talk about what to do for a while and we are both chicken...and we admit it freely. Anyway at one point Erica says, "I will go and get it for $5." To which I said, "Ok." To which she is thinking in her mind: I didn't think she would actually say yes to that! And then she says, "Well you have to come over there and back me up." To which I'm thinking: This is why I'm paying you $5! So I don't have to go over there! But I say, "What am I supposed to do to back you up?" And she says, "Well if it jumps on me, you have to get it off me!" To which we both turn around and decide to just let the grasshopper roam the house until Sam can get it later! It was hilarious.

Anyway...the saga continued when I got back to work. My freind Laure said that she would go get it. I work just 5 minutes from my home so I took her up on her offer. We head over to my house. She walks in the kitchen, picks the grasshopper up in her hands and just let's it go outside! I was in awe! But I still would not have touched that thing! EWWW!!

10. I'm ready for a vacation! Maybe I should start planning one. Hmmmm...

I received this card in the mail this week! My mom is just so creative! I love the color combo as well as the use of the Calendar stamp set and the Build-A-Brad! So cute! If you can't figure it out, she based this card off the due date of Baby Ryden! Very cute!

New Color Challenge

Ok...here is your next color challenge! Since I'm in full baby mode, I have been looking for baby bedding and furniture and stuff! Well here is the bedding that I'm currently in love with!

There are two color combinations that you can choose from. If you are hoping for a baby girl Ryden you must choose: Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. If you are hoping for a baby boy Ryden you must choose: Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. Bonus points if you use an elephant too!

And since it's called "Elephant Stitch" you must use either real or faux stitching somewhere on your card. Entries due by Friday, 9/12. Happy Stamping!

Another Color Challenge Card

This card was made by my mom. I forgot my camera the day that she wanted me to take a picture of it so...it's a little late. But that's ok! It's still a very cute card and I really enjoy the colors!

I will be posting another color challenge before the week is up. But if you just can't wait, Kristina posts one every Wednesday! You can find it here. There are some really cute colors this week!

Cards for Baby Ryden

So the baby has brought on a lot of mail at our house and I love it! I love getting cards in the mail...and it's even better when they are homemade!

This first card was sent to us by Colette Gillespie! I love this stamp set and I'm so sad that it's retired! I hope I look that cute when my belly gets that big!

This little card you might remember seeing for the color challenge. This card was made by Grandma Jean. Such a cute little lamb!

I just got this card yesterday in the mail. It's from Heather! Love the color combination and the stamp...where did you get it?

And this last card is from Jinny! Love that cute little baby! :)

The New Grill

So 2 years ago for Christmas I told Sam that he could pick out any grill that he wanted for his Christmas present. I even made him a very cute little card and gave him grill tools to use on the new grill. Well 1.5 years later he picked out the grill that he wanted and actually purchased it! YEAH!

So last night, we cooked dinner on it for the first time! YUM!

Here Sam is, looking all manly while grillin. We had brats, french fries made on the grill, and corn on the cob. It was all rather yummy!

Here I am sitting on the porch just watching!

After we were done eating, we let the dogs try to eat some corn on the cob. It was so cute! Here is Gus!

And here is Chloe! She was so cute because she she was biting her little nose would be pushed up so she looked like she was making a pig face.

And here is Sam just playing around, pretending like he burned his hand. So silly!
