The New Catalog...

Ok...here goes. I have had a chance to really look through the catalog twice now and as I write this post I will be going through it again. I just wish you could all be here with me as I'm looking at the new catalog!

The first thing I would like to tell everyone is that this catalog is running from August 11th until January 18th. So it looks like we will have another great catalog just in time for my birthday on January 20th!! YEAH!!

Here you will see the cover. It's very pretty with some of the new In Colors on the front. And you will see that one edge is spiral bound...that is just special for demonstrators that attend convention. However the other edge looks like it was cut using the new Scallop Edge punch. We are wondering if that is just special for convention attendees as well or if they will all be that way?! We will just have to wait and see!

Now...on to the stamp sets! There are a lot of new Halloween sets. Some new Christmas. (And just remember that all of the NEW stamp sets are going to be die cut! YEAH!) There are sections in the catalog between the stamp set categories that show techniques like tying a perfect bow and heat embossing and others. I think that's pretty neat!

I thought that this set was so cute. It's called Cheers to You and it has a bunch of alcoholic drinks! Perfect for a party or New Years invitation. And it was just shocking because I didn't think that Stampin Up would ever do something like that!

There wasn't too many new stamp sets in the Growing Up section. I'm so excited that Tart and Tangy is in the catalog (along with the paper that was in the mini!).

I love this background stamp. It's called Classifieds. It's so cute...Here are some examples of the statements on it: "Needed ASAP. Bridge needed to cross the distance between us. Miss You." AND "One Day Only. Chocolate cake with more candles than last year, balloons, party hats, & tons of presents. Wish list available upon request. Call 555-BDAY for details." So CUTE!

Then there is this double-mounted background stamp for only $26.95. On one side you get a calendar for the week and on the other side you get a to do list that even has little boxes to check complete! I love it!

I'm seeing a lot of square images that might make me want to get the square punches!

There aren't too many new alphabet sets. There is a cute mini alphabet that has the full numbers 1-31 that would be great for the Calendar background that I already have!

There are all new papers and Simply Scrappin kits! I love them all...almost. I think the papers are posted on boards I will just have to see if I can get pictures of them tomorrow. New rubons too! And new chipboard.

There are no new albums. No new colors. No new sizes. No bringing back the 8.5x11...sorry mom!

I think these new metal clips and brads are SO cute!

And there are new ribbons! YEAH! Look at that cute 1" Double stiched ribbon! It comes in Real Red, Baja Breeze, Bashful Blue, and Chocolate Chip.

Check out this cute button assortment! So cute!

And more ribbon!

And here is the back of the catalog! If you have questions just post a comment or email and I will get to them soon!

My trip so far...

Day 1, Tuesday

Well I started the day leaving my house around 2pm. It didn't take me too long to get the airport and I was chillin in the terminal by 3:00pm. My flight didn't leave until 5:18pm! I totally should have left later than that. Now I know for next time! Anyway...I boarded the smallest plane that I have ever seen...there were just 3 seats across, one on one side and two on the other. There were probably about 50 seats and there was just one flight attendant for us all!

On the 2.5 hour flight I slept and read my book. And I took this really fun picture! (Clouds Mom!!)
Then I took this picture of myself. It was cold on the plane so I was trying to soak up the sun!

I got to Salt Lake City and to the hotel around 7:30pm. Then my roommates and I went out to eat. We went to a fish restaurant but I hate fish so I had a chicken ceasear wrap. It was very yummy!

Then it was back to the hotel to get some sleep!

Day 2 - Wednesday

Well my roommates and I started the day by leaving the hotel around 8am. We got to the convention center and stood in the "Get Your Convention Bag" line. It was very long but not as long at the "I Want to go to Momento Mall" line. So we got our bag...
(Here is a close up!)
And in the bag was...The New Catalog...
There will be an in depth post about this in a few minutes!

From there we went to stand in the "I Want to go to Momento Mall" line and we stood there for a few hours and didn't seem to be moving up in line very much. So...we went to look at the Display board!

I think this was a cute use of the photo storage boxes! I just love that calendar stamp!

This calendar was on a cookie sheet! Magnetic! So cute! Who wants to have a class?!!!

Well then around 11 we headed to Stampin Up's facility. It's located in Riverton, UT...about a 30-40 minute drive. It was a neat tour! (But not as neat as 2 years ago Colette...I will explain as I continue.)

They have this room where displays are set up just like they have them in the catalog. I thought this one was fun! I particularly like the way they put the pictures in the glass jars on the shelf! If I had room for something like this in my house...I would totally be making plans now!

Here I am sitting in the room that they use the Decor Elements roses. Of course my eyes were closed! HA HA!

We also got to see the warehouse where they fill all of our orders. Although this year we didn't get to tour the facility and help out...just peek in. They said it was because they have some many people this time coming through in one day. We also didn't get to see Shelli's office this year...bummer!

There I am with the Stampin Up building in the background!

It's such a beautiful building!

After we took the tour, we stood in the "I Want to go to Momento Mall" line. It was only about 40 minutes this time and we were in! I got the project tote, a chapstick, and a convention charm!

We then headed back to the hotel to drop off all of our stuff! We had to walk because there were no shuttles available. It's about a mile walk (not like staying at the Hilton Colette!). Around 3 we went to have lunch at a sports bar and grill. It was funny because they also serve Chinese food! HA HA!

And now I'm just sitting in the hotel room alone. My roommates are attending a dinner at our hotel that cost $30 to attend. So I'm a loner tonight!

I'm HERE!

I'm here...1 more hour until I get to see the new catalog! YEAH! I will update with pictures later today! PROMISE!

7.29.2008

Update!

Well...I'm sitting here on Tuesday morning at my house and I'm loving it! YEAH! I didn't work yesterday either. I'm so glad that I decided to take Monday and Tuesday off work. And the reason that I'm off the rest of the week is that I'm heading to Salt Lake City for Stampin Up convention! YEAH!

But I wanted to share a few things with you first! Here are my Decor Elements that are located in my family room. I love the word family!

And here is my swap for convention! Do you like it? So if you are a blog reader and you see me there...come say hi! I'm on Track 6, taking the Riverton tour on Wednesday @ 11am. Hope to meet a lot of new people there!

Here is what I'm looking forward to:
Michael Phelps - Swimming. Love to see him swim and win a lot!

Natalie Coughlin - Swimming. Loved her in the last Olympics as well!

Scrapbooking!

Here are the much awaited scrapbook pages that I created last Friday while I was scrapbooking at church!

These first two pictures are of our first full day at sea and the time we spent relaxing.

This next page was a little bit of a struggle...right Danielle! I love scrapbooking with freinds because they can always give you a little advice or a piece of red cardstock when needed!

Don't you just love that little paperclip with the silverware on it?!

This next page is of our first port of call, Cabo. I used some rubons in the right hand corner. I also have to mention that I love the shapes that decorative paper comes in lately! So cute!

This page of the Land's End rock formations is pretty plain...but sometimes you need a page like that!

This page is also pretty plain. I wanted to fit all of these pictures from our excursion in Mazatlan on one page. We went 4 different place so I divided the page into 4 slots. I think there are 15 pictures on this layout!

And the last page for today is about our last stop in Puerto Vallarta. I love the torn edges with the ink and also the cirlces that I made with my couzzle!

Close up!

I hope you all have a great 4th! Be safe and have fun!
